Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled full-time HR Manager to join Crystal Pharmatech.
Founded in 2010, Crystal Pharmatech is a global organization with approximately 250 employees and four R&D centers located in Suzhou (China), New Jersey, California (USA), and Toronto (Canada). Our expertise lies in delivering integrated, specialized services, including API solid-state research, crystallization, preformulation, formulation development and manufacturing, clinical supply for small-molecule new drugs, and bioanalytical GLP and CMC analytical services for biologics.
Reporting directly to the HR Director of Crystal Pharmatech Group, the HR Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing human resources functions for all USA sites. This position will manage recruitment, compensation, and benefits; oversee training and development; implement performance management systems; develop and enforce HR policies; and ensure compliance with employment laws. The role requires close collaboration with senior HR management and organizational stakeholders to align HR strategies with business objectives.
Based in Pleasanton, CA, this role will provide comprehensive HR support for Crystal Pharmatech's USA operations.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee and enhance the organization's human resources function by planning, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, and practices, including approval workflows.
Develop and execute the organization's human resources and talent strategy, focusing on recruitment, retention, and succession planning. Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified candidates. Design, deploy, and optimize talent initiatives such as career fairs and partnerships with staffing agencies.
Analyze compensation and benefits trends, conduct pay surveys and job evaluations, and recommend competitive base and incentive pay programs to attract and retain top talent.
Manage the onboarding and orientation process, and partner with departmental managers to create and support learning and development programs. Develop inter-departmental rotation and transfer mechanisms to foster professional growth opportunities for employees.
Collaborate with the leadership team to monitor and enhance the performance management process.
Oversee employee relations matters, including disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Conduct periodic reviews of employee handbooks, policies, and practices to maintain legal compliance and recommend best practices.
Prepare and review the annual labor cost budget. Maintain accurate human resources documents, records, and information systems.
Collaborate with external IT contractors and the internal IT team to optimize IT management procedures, ensure robust data security, and safeguard organizational information. Regularly assess contractor performance and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Perform administrative tasks and provide logistical support to facilitate company operations.
Undertake additional tasks as needed to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources Management or Business.
At least 2 years of professional experience with a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures across core functional areas, along with general knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal, organizational, diplomacy, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
High-energy professional with proven self-confidence, integrity, reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
Adaptable and open-minded, with a willingness to embrace change and learn in a fast-paced work environment.
Experience with the ADP system for employee account setup and management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
HR certification is preferred.
Fluency in both English and Chinese, as well as experience in international and cross-cultural environments, is a plus.
